七福神 (Shichifukujin, Seven Lucky Gods)

A group of seven deities in Japanese folklore believed to bring good fortune and happiness.
The gods are often depicted together, each representing different types of blessings such as wealth, longevity, wisdom, and happiness.
They are particularly worshiped during the New Year’s period, when many people visit shrines and temples to pray for good luck in the coming year.
Besides New Year celebrations, there are also well-established traditional pilgrimages called "Shichifukujin Meguri," where devotees visit multiple shrines or temples dedicated to the Seven Lucky Gods, often taking place throughout the year depending on the region.
The Seven Lucky Gods have been a popular subject in Japanese art—such as Ukiyo-e prints—and appear frequently in festivals and cultural ceremonies, reflecting their deep integration in Japanese culture and folk religion.

The Seven Lucky Gods include:

Ebisu (god of fishermen and luck)
