Watanabe Shoei (1873-?)
Né à Osaka en 1873. Nom commun: Kumajiro.
A étudié l'école Shijo sous Shoeki Watanabe.

Le sanctuaire de Kasuga-Taisha est situé à Kasugano-cho, Nara City, Nara Préfecture, et a été construit en 768 pour protéger la capitale Heijo-Kyo et prier pour la prospérité du peuple, et est dédié aux dénit Clan Nakatomi et Fujiwara.
Entouré par la forêt primitive de Kasuga-Yama, les sanctuaires abritent environ 3 000 lanternes dédiées depuis la période Heian (794-1185). Plus d'une douzaine de lanternes sont représentées dans la peinture.
