Biografia
Ogura Gyoka (1876-1957)
Nato a Takahashi (città di Takahashi, prefettura di Okayama) nel 1876.
Il suo vero nome è Zenzaburo. Il suo nome di penna è Gyoka.
I suoi alias includono Shofu, Hakukin, Dankei, Sozan, Sozan e Bogyu-Sanso-Shujin.
Ha studiato dipinto in stile giapponese alla Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (ora Tokyo University of the Arts) sotto Kawabata Gyokusho.
Ha stabilito il suo stile di pittura.
Gyoka ha lasciato molte opere tradizionali e semplici.
Ha trascorso gran parte della sua vita a Takahashi.
