Biografia
Tomoda Yasukiyo (1862-1918)
Ceramista, pittore e uomo d'affari dei periodi Meiji e Taisho.
Nato a Kanazawa, provincia di Kaga.
I suoi nomi teatrali sono "Kinjo Kyu-kei" e "Kyu-kei".
Ha studiato dipinto in stile giapponese sotto Kouno Bairei, Kishi Chikudo e Ikeda Kyuka.
Ha anche imparato la pigmentazione in stile occidentale da Natomi Sukejiro, e in seguito ha studiato la produzione di ceramiche e il regolazione del pigmento dal tedesco Wagner.
Nel 1899, divenne direttore del laboratorio di ceramica della contea di Izushi nella prefettura di Hyogo.
Nel 1906, tornò a Kanazawa e istituì Hayashiya Gumi (in seguito noto come Nippon Hardware Co., Ltd.).
Dal 1908, ha diretto principalmente la produzione di ceramiche come ingegnere capo, producendo e vendendo stoviglie per l'esportazione all'estero.
Morì nel 1918.
