Biografie
Kawabata Gyokusho (1842-1913)
Tempo 13 (1842) - Taisho 2 (1913)
Hij was een Japanse schilder die actief was in het Meiji -tijdperk.
Op 11 -jarige leeftijd ging hij naar de school van Nakajima Raisho en studeerde later onder Oda Kaisen.
Hij bewonderde ook Maruyama Okyo en werd een leidende figuur van de moderne Maruyama School.
Hij was professor aan de Tokyo Fine Arts School en richtte de Kawabata School of Art op en bevorderde de volgende generatie kunstenaars,
en werd geprezen samen met zijn collega Hashimoto Gaho.
