Biografie
Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891)
Japanse schilder en lakkunstenaar van de late Edo- en Meiji -periodes.
Tentoonstelde zijn werken op binnenlandse en internationale exposities en schilderwedstrijden.
Hij kreeg bekendheid in zowel lakwerk als schilderen.
In 1890 werd hij een keizerlijke huishoudkunstenaar.
Stierf in 1891 op 85 -jarige leeftijd.
Shouji Chikushin (1854-1936)
Japanse schilder en lakkunstenaar van de Meiji- en vroege Showa -periodes.
Het pseudoniem is Kakan-AN, Seisei-Ken.
Bestudeerde schilderen, maki-e en lak schilderen onder Shibata Zeshin.
Prijzen toegekend op de nationale tentoonstelling van schilderen in Japan.
