【Biografie】
Hirai Chokusui (1861-?)
Geboren in Osaka in 1861. Een populaire naam is Shihou. Zijn bijnaam is Toranosuke. Ook bekend als Seisai en Kajitsurō.
Studeerde op 30 -jarige leeftijd onder Fukada Chokujo om schilder te worden. Uitblonk in het schilderen van landschappen, bloemen en vogels, vooral pauwen.
Stierf tijdens het Taisho-tijdperk (1912-1925).
