In the distance, a lonely village can be seen embraced by flowing waters, while a single narrow path winds obliquely through the mountains.
Who can know how many homes lie hidden deep among the thickly growing trees?
Copied at Dokugaro in early winter of 1908(Meiji 41).

Biography
Mori Kinseki (1843-1921)

Tenpo 14 (1843)-Taisho 10 (1921) Born in Yumoto, Arima District, Settsu Province (present-day Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture). A Nanga painter and copperplate print artist active during the Meiji and Taisho periods. His original family name was Kajiki, and his given name was Kuma, later changed to Shigeru. His courtesy name was Kichimu, and his other art names included Tekkyo and Unkonkan. Adopted into the Mori family in Osaka at an early age, he studied Nanga painting under Kanae Kinjo and later Ninchoji Seison. He also studied Chinese classics under Mega Yusho and others, and is said to have received instruction in Western-style painting from Takahashi Yuichi in Tokyo in 1873. He produced numerous copperplate prints under the name Kyosendo while continuing his work as a Nanga painter. He won awards at national exhibitions and in 1913 became the first Osaka painter appointed as a judge for the Bunten, establishing himself as a leading figure of the Kansai Nanga school.
