Biography
Kikuchi Sokuu (1873-1922)

A Japanese painter, born in Kyoto. He was the adopted son of the poet Kikuchi Sankei,
with the real name Sama Tarou. After graduating from the Kyoto School of Painting,
he studied under Kouno Bairei, learning the Shijo School style. Following his travels in Europe, he became a lecturer at the Kyoto Higher Technical School. He died in 1922 at the age of 49.
