Art work details
This is a work that I would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional Japanese landscape painting (the subject is Chinese).
The reason is that it is a landscape painting that was painted without cutting corners.
The artist is almost unknown. There is almost no detailed information about his biography. However, while there are countless landscape paintings in the world, there seem to be many that were painted without cutting corners, but there are actually not many.
I had never heard of this artist.
However, I was attracted to the seriousness of the painting, the good color of the paint (not in the sense of being bright, but in the sense of creating a calm atmosphere), and the sense of airiness created by the perspective created by the shading.
There may not be anything that stands out in particular, but it is painted "faithfully to the basics" and is quite impressive.
The overall condition of the mounting is somewhat discolored, stained, and wrinkled, but it is good that the original mounting remains intact and has not been replaced in later generations.
A Japanese colored landscape painting that was painted over 100 years ago. Please consider this earnestly painted work by a virtually unknown artist.
