Biographie
Kawabata Gyokusho (1842-1913)
Tempo 13 (1842) - Taisho 2 (1913)
Il était un peintre japonais actif à l'ère Meiji.
À l'âge de 11 ans, il est entré à l'école de Nakajima Raisho et a ensuite étudié sous Oda Kaisen.
Il a également admiré Maruyama Okyo et est devenu une figure principale de l'école moderne de Maruyama.
Il était professeur à la Tokyo Fine Arts School et a créé la Kawabata School of Art et a favorisé la prochaine génération d'artistes,
et a été loué avec son collègue Hashimoto Gaho.
