Biographie
Tomoda Yasukiyo (1862-1918)
Céramiste, peintre et homme d'affaires des périodes Meiji et Taisho.
Né à Kanazawa, province de Kaga.
Ses noms de scène sont "Kinjo Kyu-Kei" et "Kyu-Kei".
A étudié la peinture de style japonais sous Kouno Bairei, Kishi Chikudo et Ikeda Kyuka.
Il a également appris la pigmentation de style occidental de Natomi Sukejiro, et a ensuite étudié la fabrication de poterie et l'ajustement des pigments du Wagner allemand.
En 1899, il est devenu directeur du laboratoire de céramique du comté d'Izushi de Hyogo Prefecture.
En 1906, il est retourné à Kanazawa et a créé le Hayashiya Gumi (plus tard connu sous le nom de Nippon Hardware Co., Ltd.).
À partir de 1908, il a principalement dirigé la production de poterie en tant qu'ingénieur en chef, fabriquant et vendant une vaisselle pour l'exportation à l'étranger.
Décédé en 1918.
