【Biography】
Nishiyama Kanei(1834-1897)

Confucian scholar of the late Edo and Meiji periods.
Born in Tenpo 5 years.His name is Ken. A popular name is Shiju.His nickname is Kenichiro.
He studied Confucianism with Shoin Goto, and learned painting from his father, Nishiyama Hoen.
He served the Akashi domain of Harima (Hyogo). He died in 1890. 64 years old.

【A word from the store】
Nishiyama Kanei wrote a poem written by Nakajima Soin(1779-1855), a Confucian scholar of the Edo period, and drew a painting of a beautiful woman to match it. The surrounding cover is also made of gorgeous fabric to match the beautiful paintings inside. It is a very stylish work.

Women in beautiful kimonos lined up at the banquet table, their red aprons bright. The graceful figure of the hostess was as warm as a spring breeze.
