【Biography】
Okamoto Toyohiko (1773-1845)

Born in An'ei 2. Studied under Kuroda Ryozan at first, but later moved to Kyoto to study under Matsumura Gekkei(Goshun).
He excelled in landscape painting and, along with Matsumura Keibun, became one of the leading painters of the Shijo School.
Died in Koka 2, aged 73. He was born in Bichu (Okayama Prefecture). A popular name is Shigen. His nickname is Shime. The pseudonym is Rikyo,Ko-son,Cho-shinsai.
