Opened a private school to train his students.
He is also famous as a connoisseur of Mori Kansai's paintings.

He lived in Kyoto City. Died at the age of 66.

【A word from the store】
Shuseki's specialty is landscape painting, and this work is a good example of that.
The white parts of the haze that cover the upper and lower parts of the waterfall are not painted with white paint, but rather with pale paint or sumi ink on the surrounding areas to express the "transparency" of water and air. In other words, this is a method of painting that makes the most of the colors of the original silk ground.
There is light foxing throughout the painting, and the silk ground has a brownish tinge, but this matches the atmosphere of the painting and is not a problem for appreciation.
The size is just right, neither too long nor too short, so it is easy to display. This hanging scroll will bring you a sense of coolness on a hot summer day.
