【Biography】
Hirai Chokusui (1861-?)
Born in Osaka in 1861. A popular name is Shihou.His nickname is Toranosuke. Also known as Seisai and Kajitsurō.
Studied under Fukada Chokujo at the age of 30 to become a painter. Excelled at painting landscapes, flowers and birds, especially peacocks.
Died during the Taisho era (1912-1925).
