A word from the store
From the style of the signature, we can tell that this work is from Keinen's middle period. As the title suggests, an old tree is entwined with red ivy, and two small birds are perched on it. The cover is a glossy dark gray with a gold pattern of autumn leaves and water. The book is bound to match the autumn scenery inside.
The tip of the scroll has been replaced with a new piece of wood, but the rest of the cover is in its original condition.
It is a work in which the margins and the shading of the ink are used to their fullest, without too much writing.
The box and appraisal were done by Keisho, Keinen's adopted son.
