Biography
Kobayashi Taigen(1938-?)
He was born in 1938 in Mukden, China.
His name is Gitou.
He was a Rinzai Buddhist monk. Became abbot of Oubai-in, Daitokuji Temple, in 1975.
At the age of 6, he became a monk and graduated from Hanazono University.
He studied under Otsu Rekidou at Shokokuji.
Main Meaning
"Nanmu Shaka muni butsu"
The word "Namu" means "I take refuge" and the seven letters of "Namu Shakyamuni Buddha" mean "I take refuge in Shakyamuni Buddha. It is used in the Tendai and Soto sects.
