Yaku: Translation
Just entered into summer, the spirit feels somewhat light, and the long rains of the plum season have not yet begun. By midday the fresh green comes forth in brightness; along the narrow path a lingering warbler takes flight. The feathered cup brims with jade-like wine,
and in the golden bowl plums lie like clustered pearls. Rich and lustrous beauty fills the scene as though sealed in mist, and upon the paulownia a cicada may be seen drawing sap.

Letting the eyes wander in early summer — signed “Kaiokusei” (Nukina Kaioku).
